Project Description

The main features of the Project include:

Earthfill dam with reservoir capacity of 15 Million cubic metres (MCM); 13 m high, 1,340 m long. Quantity of earth material, V = 320 000 m3. Associated concrete works (Bottom Outlet, Spillway, Intake Tower) for a total volume of 5 241 m3 .
Homogeneous shell fill with central clay core and filter placed on a 1.5m thickness of clay blanket.
Because of the excessive depth of the impervious layer (24 – 28m), clay blanket of thickness 1.5m with an extension of between 30 – 50m into the reservoir was constructed to control the rate of seepage flow underneath the dam body.
Development of 1,000 Hectare of irrigation scheme.

Our role on the Project included Detail Design, Preparation of Construction drawings, Work Programming, Monthly Work Valuation and general direction of the works.
